Reference project: Compact pull out racks for J+P

ABOUT J+P

J+P Maschinenbau GmbH has been a specialist in end-of-line packaging machines since 1992, supplying them mainly to the food industry, which is regarded as particularly innovative. J+P covers the complete range of end-of-line packaging like hardly anyone else. In doing so, the machine program is adapted and further developed at any time to new packaging tasks and requirements of secondary packaging.

THE ISSUE

J+P stores its individual components in pallet rack warehouses. The pallets on the lower two levels are moved out of these in a cumbersome process by means of a lift truck.

The warehouse contains many production parts that are stored on a project basis. These parts are picked at short notice, so that storage in the pallet rack is not worthwhile because it is too cumbersome or time-consuming.

THE APPROACH

Our compact racks are ideally suited for such a purpose. The many individual parts can be stored in compressed form in the smallest possible space. Thanks to the drawer system, all parts are always within reach and can be removed quickly and easily.

In the existing racks, the lower two levels are removed and replaced by compact racks. Thus, the storage capacity is greatly increased, as now the area of 5 instead of 2 pallet spaces can be used.

We want our customers to be convinced by our products. The best way to do this is to test it on site. Therefore, we delivered a compact rack with 5 drawers and 100% pull-out depth in advance as a sample.

OUR IMPLEMENTATION

After an extensive testing period where the shelving was in use under real-life conditions, J+P decided that the compact pull-out shelving was just what they needed. We were able to help J+P to increase the utilization of the storage spaces by approx. 40% with 16 compact racks.

J+P Maschinenbau GmbH also had aluminum frames made, which were placed around the steel shelves. The stored production parts are angular and bulky, among other things, and require additional support to prevent them from being pushed through.

The cladding creates a uniform and neat appearance.

The aluminum frames were not manufactured by us.
